HUNA Definitions
Huna: Huna, the Secret Science Behind Miracles™ is the ancient system of applied metaphysics recovered and re-synthesized by Max Freedom Long. Max named the philosophy "Huna" from the Hawaiian word for "secret."
Aka: The invisible substance which forms the permanent pattern of each self/level of consciousness. Conducts Mana. This "silvery cord" connects the three selves; also connects us to other persons. The "Etheric" body.
Hakalau: A consciously altered state of awareness, in which your perception is expanded and intuition heightened.
'Ohana: The extended family. Today the word refers to the followers of the Huna way of life as a family of choice
Ha Rite: The Huna technique of breathing to generate or gather a surcharge of Mana and charging a thought-form which is then sent to the High Self.
Ho`oponopono: Ancient Hawaiian traditional method of problem solving involving the entire family. Means "making things right."
Kala: The Huna technique for mental and emotional cleansing. Also means Forgiveness. "Restoring the Light."
Complex: An unrationalized group of thought-forms, charged with negative emotions (often hidden by the unconscious mind because) which affects our thoughts and actions. Fixed beliefs.
Prayer-Action: Directing the energized picture of our desired future condition to the High Self to be brought into physical manifestation. Also called the Ha Rite.
Thought-Form: The carefully designed mental blueprint of the desired future, which is the goal of the Huna Prayer-Action.

Godlike part of the Self
Inspires you and connects you with your higher purpose.
Dual nature containing both feminine
and masculine polarities.
Place of intuition, wisdom, and absolute love.
Does not interfere with the individual's free will.
Only helps when asked.
Always tell you the truth when asked.
Will lead you to the means of help if you request it.
May intervene when your life is threatened.
UHANE - Middle Self
Conscious Self. The Objective Mind
Waking Mind that analyzes and uses logic to guide behavior.
Functions only during waking hours.
The self that speaks.
UNIHIPILI - Lower Self/Companion Self
The Unconscious Mind. The Subjective Mind.
The "mind that never sleeps."
Governs the body and emotions, holds memory.
Has mentality of a child or adolescent.
Moves toward pleasure and away from pain.
